Umuada Igbo foundation International Inc. (UIFI) is a not-for-profit 501C (3) organization lawfully established in 2014 to oversee the promotion and progress of Igbo culture, traditions and values especially in diaspora.
Part of UIFI purpose is to foster unity among Igbo women and other communities in Chicago and environs and across the United States by conducting cultural activities that will bring them together.
Umuada Igbo Foundation International Inc. (UIFI) wishes to encourage and promote development of family values, children and women’s interest with a focus on education, healthcare, agriculture and security and to foster economic empowerment among our members by sharing information and knowledge.
Among UIFI’s ultimate aims is to teach and encourage our children to learn Igbo Language, culture, traditions and values and also to empower them especially with quality education.
UIFI hopes to undertake any desirable services that will benefit her and assist in her mission of building a cultural/civic center in Chicago.
This organization is funded by members and donations from individuals. The organization also anticipates assistance from government, corporations, and general public.
OUR MISSION:
Our mission is to ensure the legacy of Igbo culture, traditions and values, by creating awareness and understanding of our culturally sensitive family values among our people especially our youths in diaspora and by securing a Civic Center where information, teaching and learning will be provided.
VISION: Part of our vision is to assist under -privileged women and children from Africa adapt to life in the United States. This includes assistance with relevant social service programs, and where applicable, assistance with identifying programs that teach English as a new language.
